Waldorf is a partnership.

The education your child receives at WSSD works best when families understand it too. Our Parent Education Program (PEP) helps prospective and current parents get to know the Waldorf approach — not as theory, but as something you can see at work in your own child, and support with confidence at home and at school.

That understanding is the point of PEP: the why behind the rhythms, the reading timeline, the screen-free years, and the artistic work. Through parent evenings, workshops, and time with teachers, the approach stops being a mystery — so the hours at school and at home begin, gently, to pull in the same direction.

Why parent education?

Waldorf education can look different from what many parents grew up with, and that’s exactly why we invest in helping families understand it. When you know why we teach the way we do, the whole education makes more sense — and you become a genuine partner in it. PEP is one of the ways WSSD supports its families, not just its students.

Beyond the podcast, families can take part in parent talks, workshops, and community conversations throughout the year. Watch the calendar for upcoming sessions, or reach out to our team to learn what’s coming next.

The best way to understand a Waldorf education is to see it.

Tours run regularly throughout the school year — about 60 to 90 minutes, with time to ask the questions a website can’t answer.
