Every gift shapes a childhood.

Our greatest strength is our community — people who share their time, talent, and resources to make this education possible for the next generation of students.

With the support of families, friends, and foundations, we’ve grown from a single kindergarten classroom to a thriving multi-campus school over four decades. Your generosity is what makes the Waldorf experience distinctive for every child.

Why giving matters

Tuition covers only part of the true cost of a WSSD education. Each year, roughly 20% of our operating budget comes from philanthropy, development events, and grants. That gap is where giving does its work — funding the curriculum, the arts, the festivals, and the tuition-adjustment program that keeps a Waldorf education within reach for more families. When you give, you’re not funding an extra; you’re helping sustain the everyday education your child receives.

Ways to give

There are many ways to make a gift to the school — choose the one that fits your family:

  • A one-time gift to the Annual Fund, in any amount
  • A recurring gift as a Sustainer (see below)
  • A gift of appreciated stocks or bonds — often a tax-efficient way to give, letting you avoid capital-gains tax you’d owe if you sold the assets yourself
  • Matching gifts through your employer, which can double your impact

Become a Sustainer

Our Sustainers form the backbone of our Annual Fund. A sustaining gift is convenient, customizable, and paperless: you choose a recurring amount that makes sense for you, and it adds up to a meaningful impact over the course of the year. Recurring gifts also help the school plan ahead and meet unexpected challenges whenever they arise. Choose your amount and become a Sustainer today.

Giving Tuesday

Each Giving Tuesday, your gift to the Waldorf School of San Diego goes directly to our students, teachers, and learning environment — from the tuition-adjustment program to the hands-on, experiential learning that shapes curious, capable, confident young people. Watch for our annual goal, and help us reach it.
