Where children love to learn — and families know exactly how to begin.

Choosing a school is one of the biggest decisions your family will make. We’ve made the next step a simple one. Tour a campus, meet our teachers, and see for yourself how head, heart, and hands come together in every classroom.

Whether your child is ready for their first day of nursery or their first year of high school, the path in starts the same way: come and visit.

How do I apply to the Waldorf School of San Diego?

Applying to the Waldorf School of San Diego takes three steps: tour our campus, submit your application and forms, and complete a short student visit. We recommend touring first — it helps you see the school in action, and it reduces your application fee.

Do I need to tour before I apply?

You don’t need to tour before you apply, but we strongly recommend it — and families who tour first pay a reduced application fee. A tour is the best way to feel whether WSSD is the right fit for your child, and it gives you the chance to ask our teachers anything.

When can my child start at WSSD?

Children can join WSSD at almost any stage, from nursery through high school. Many families begin in Early Childhood, but we welcome new students into the Lower School, Middle School, and High School as space allows. If you’re relocating or transferring mid-year, contact our admissions team and we’ll talk through what’s possible.

Does WSSD welcome students with learning differences?

WSSD welcomes students with a range of learning styles, and our approach reaches auditory, logical, kinesthetic, and visual learners alike. We ask families to share any current or past IEPs, 504 plans, or assessments early in the application process so we can have an honest conversation about whether we can meet your child’s needs well. Ask us for our Statement of Learning Support.

The best way to understand a Waldorf education is to see it.

Tours run regularly throughout the school year — about 60 to 90 minutes, with time to ask the questions a website can’t answer.
