Two ways to take the next step. Schedule a tour to see WSSD in action — we recommend this first, and it reduces your application fee — or start your application right away.
Ready when you are.
Either way, we’ll be with you at every step.
Tour the campus that fits your child
Choose your campus and pick a time — it takes two minutes.
Altadena Campus — Pre-K through Grade 8
Our Lower School campus is built around the wonder of childhood. Children grow through the rhythm of the seasons, hands-on work, artistic expression, and purposeful play — each space crafted to meet a different stage of growing up.
3547 Altadena Avenue, San Diego, CA 92105 · (619) 280-8016
Rolando Campus — High School, Grades 9 through 12
Our High School campus is where adolescents deepen their thinking, find their voice, and meet a rigorous, interdisciplinary curriculum that prepares them for life. It’s just four miles from the Altadena campus.
6745 Amherst Street, San Diego, CA 92115 · (619) 280-8016
How to apply
Steps:
- Tour a campus. We recommend touring before you apply — it’s the best way to know if WSSD fits, and families who tour first pay a reduced application fee.
- Start your application and select your child’s level — Early Childhood, Lower School, Middle School, or High School. Submit it with the application fee, and you’ll get access to the remaining required forms.
- Complete your application file. We’ll let you know what to include and guide you through a short student visit so we can get to know your child.
- Receive your decision, and if WSSD is the right fit, complete enrollment through FACTS — sign your contract and submit your registration fee to secure your child’s place.
Your application file:
- Student admissions application
- Teacher recommendation letter
- Student questionnaire
Common questions
How much is the application fee?
The application fee is $150 for new students, reduced to $75 if you apply within 30 days of touring a campus.
Can I apply if I haven’t toured yet?
You can apply without touring, but we recommend touring first — it helps you see whether WSSD is right for your child, and it lowers your application fee. If an in-person visit isn’t possible, ask us about a video tour or a Waldorf information session.
Can my child transfer into WSSD mid-year?
In many cases, yes. WSSD welcomes transfer students into the Lower School, Middle School, and High School as space allows. Reach out to our admissions team and we’ll talk through your child’s situation and current openings.
What happens after I’m accepted?
After you’re accepted, you’ll complete enrollment through FACTS — sign your enrollment contract and submit your registration fee to secure your child’s place. If you’d like to apply for Tuition Adjustment, you can do that before, during, or after this step.
Questions? Talk to admissions.
Our admissions team is happy to help you find the right starting point for your child.
